Worldwide Post Report: February & March 2015

The last couple of months have been busy Postcrossing months for me! Lots of postcards sent all over the world, and many more received.

Instead of uploading every single card that found its way to my home (like I did in January), I thought perhaps this time I would share only some of my favorites.

02 GermanyWho doesn’t love cats? *obligatory ‘awwww’*

This card, coming from Germany, translates to “In our dreams we are real heroes.” (At least according to the sender, as I certainly do not speak German. I used to speak some. And well. But that’s another story.)

This next card is from, you guessed it, Belarus!

05 Belarus

I love the illustration style of this card. I’m not too sure who this little gentleman is supposed to be, but I like to place him in a fairy tale of some sort in my mind.

Some of those mushrooms are nearly a third his size. What kind of mushrooms ARE those??

06 RussiaNext is an absolutely precious card from Russia.

Some Postcrossers set up accounts for their children, which I think is a brilliant idea to get kids in touch with the world. In this case, the card came from a little girl dictating to her mom exactly what card to send and what to write.

She told me she loved flowers, and hoped that these would bring me joy. They very much did.

Finally, this might be one of my favorite cards of all those I’ve ever received. 09 Taiwan

Coming from Taiwan, it may also be one of the strangest advertisements to eat steamed dumplings I have ever encountered. (Not that I have encountered a lot, but the statement stands.)

I love the awkward illustrations of people from around the world and all of the random sentiments about dumplings. (Click on the image to see a bigger version.)

Which is your favorite card?

  1. I really like the Belarus card! The little gentlemen really IS fairytale-esque.

The dumpling card cracks me up. Hair Saloon. And the emphasis that ALMOST all the Thai people love the dumplings. *giggles*

  2. I love the Dumpling card! Especially the bit about Bruce Lee!
I also love the American depiction! Why yes, we are all cowboys over here. Haha!

Belarus is also adorable! I wonder if maybe the mushrooms aren’t huge and he is just small? Like David the Gnome ^.^

  3. I love them all 🙂 But the cat one is probably my favorite 🙂 I think I’m going to try post crossing. It seems like a fun concept.
